Posting a job on Indeed
When you're looking to fill an important position at your company, posting a job on Indeed is a great place to start. Plus, it can be done in just a few steps:
- Once logged into Indeed, click Employers/Post Job
- Create the copy for the job title and job description
- Add application questions
- Preview the job posting
- Enter account information
- Choose to sponsor the job or keep it free
- If sponsored, add billing and credit card information

It's ultimately up to you whether or not you'd like to keep your job post free or sponsor it.
Sponsored job posts on Indeed
Job posts that are sponsored are given greater visibility on job boards because an employer is paying for every click it receives. They will appear above and below free job posts, so they won't fall further down the list of open posts when new ones are added. Sponsored posts also have the opportunity to reach more candidates through desktop, mobile, and job alerts.
As an employer, you'll set a total budget per day, in addition to what you're willing to bid for each click from a potential applicant, which is why there is such a range in the cost of sponsored posts. All you'll need to do is specify a "daily budget." Just remember that the amount you spend each day will vary, as it depends on how many potential candidates are clicking on your job post.
Your employer cost, or the price of your clicks, is established by creating a budget. Indeed makes it easy to change your budget, or cancel your sponsored posts at any time. To cancel a sponsored post, just change the status of the job to either "paused" or "closed".
Choosing a daily budget
When choosing a daily budget for your sponsored Indeed job post, Indeed will multiply your daily budget by the average number of days in a month (30.5) to determine what your maximum monthly budget will be. Then, you won't spend more than this amount in any given month.
As an example, let's say your daily budget is $15. Indeed will then multiply 15 by 30.5, meaning you'll spend a maximum of $457.50 for the month.
If you choose to upload a sponsored post to Indeed in the middle of the month, it will be prorated. This means your daily budget will be multiplied by the remaining days in the month to figure out your maximum monthly budget.
Your job will remain sponsored on Indeed until you stop it.

You won't have to worry about setting up a budget or having to stop or pause the job to avoid being charged, but these posts will eventually get pushed down the page when new opportunities are posted.
To pay or not to pay
That is the question. While we can't tell you the right answer, hopefully you have a better idea as to how much it costs to post a job on Indeed, and whether or not it's in your budget to go with the route of a sponsored job post. Either way, we hope you find the candidate you're looking for!
