Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Up to 500 joints in Faces Will Bring Life-Like Facial Animations

Uncharted 4, volition be pushing the boundaries in facial animation, with faces featuring up to 500 joints. Naughty Dog's Josh Scherr, in an interview with GamesTM magazine, explained that the studio is trying hard to provide realistic facial animation to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

Scherr said:

"We have completely renovated the facial blitheness. In previous games like Uncharted and The Last of Us, the characters were from 90 to 100 "joints" in their faces. Now, all the faces have 300 to 500 joints. This allows u.s.a. to exist more detailed and more than true-blue, so equally to give greater emphasis to what the characters say, and utilize poses that we could not use before. Information technology allows us to ameliorate tell our stories, breathing our characters – nosotros hope that all of you will notice that it will be something more than just a technical feature; something that binds the emotions the characters."

Josh Scherr, is one of the writers for Uncharted 4: A Thief's stop, and equally he explained, having more than realistic animations allows players to recognise and identify emotion in the characters. A recent tweet made past Naughty Canis familiaris, that featured actors Nolan Northward and Troy Baker, teased an emotional scene.
